Food and Planting
We know all about our rights Article 29 of the UNCRC says that every child has the right to an education which teaches me about the environment and show respect for the world around me.
In P2 we enjoyed planting as part of our learning all about Food. We planted cress in cotton wool and cress in soil to compare and see which would grow.

Penguins
In P2 we had a visitor come to our class! It was a little Penguin who was lost!! We named him Snowy and learnt all about Penguins and how we could get him back to his family. We learnt all about Ice and where penguins come from. We were able to write a lost poster and got in contact with his family! We were able to send Snowy back to his family and learnt so much from him, especially how to be kind and helpful and take care of others.
Harvest Celebrations
As part of our Harvest celebrations we investigated Apples. We learnt that we are the Orchard county - Armagh!

Ordinal Numbers
We love numeracy in P2 - we especially love numeracy outdoors. Have a look at our learning all about ordinal numbers in outdoor play!
The Farm
Our first topic in P2 focused on the Farm. Farmer Brown wrote to us telling us all about his silly animals which were suffering from sillyitus and behaving in the most silly ways! He had dancing pigs, cows reading and goats in his living room!! We had to do a lot of research on farm animals and find out what they do and how useful they are. We wrote back to him with our findings. We learnt that we get wool from sheep, milk from cows and how to make scones from flour like the little red hen. We made butter and used the butter we made on our freshly baked scones. We loved learning all about the farm!
Foodies
In P2NC, we have been learning all about food! We talked about healthy and unhealthy foods, and then created our very own ‘Foodies’. We talked about how different foods could be used for the parts of the face, e.g. thinking about their different shapes and sizes.
