Welcome to Primary 6
'Coronation Art'
We created our own profile pictures of King Charles and then we filled them with everything that we associate with London and Great Britain.
St Patrick's Day - P6H
We celebrated St Patrick's Day by finding out why the shamrock is used as a symbol for St Patrick's Day and all things Irish. It was how St Patrick explained the Holy Trinity to the people of Ireland when he brought Christianity to the country. We also created our own Shamrock Art.
Inner and Outer Self
As part of our PDMU we have been thinking about our inner self and our outer self. We had fun creating these representations.
Titanic Posters
Waterscapes P6H
In P6 we have just started our 'Water' topic. We looked at the work of a local artist, Adrian Margey, and then created our own waterscapes using watercolour.
We tried to show movement and depth by using different shades of blue in our work.

Recycling
We have been investigating what happens to reusable materials and why it is important to recycle. During Art lessons we sketched metal food cans and researched what happens to recycled metals. We focused on making 'tweakments' to our sketches to improve on previous work.
Vikings
We have been learning about Vikings. We have enjoyed learning about the Viking Gods and were surprised to discover that the Vikings played board games and may even have invented chess. The Lewis Chessmen are on display in the National Museum of Scotland as an example of the earliest chess pieces. We created our own Viking God Chess pieces using clay.
In Primary 6, as part of our class topic the boys and girls have been investigating the Viking era and their culture. During a a lesson on Viking weapons and defence, the pupils designed their own Viking shield and used printing techniques to create beautiful pieces of artwork
